1962 Gretsch Twist 6109

Introduced in 1962, the Twist was, along with the Princess,
a custom colour Corvette, Gretsch’s beginner electric guitar model.
With a solid mahogany solid body and neck, a single coil pickup and a sharp double cutaway design,
it was clearly the Brooklyn manufacturer’s answer to Gibson’s Les Paul Junior.
Corvettes are indeed great no-nonsense instruments, perfect for blues and Rock’n’Roll.
A firm favourite of Rory Gallagher’s, and yet these guitars are still very underrated!

The Twist was only available for less than 2 years, making it much rarer than the Princess.
This beautifully quirky 1962 guitar is in excellent condition and
is fully original apart from a rewound pickup and a replaced strap button.
Complete with original black alligator case.
