1964 Höfner 500/1 Violin Bass

The Hofner Violin Bass has become one of the most iconic musical instrument ever designed
thanks to its most famous user, Paul McCartney.
So strong is the association that the bass is also affectionately known as the “Beatle Bass”.
A few months after the birth of Beatlemania, the Selmer London company started importing
the 500/1 in the UK and supplied them with an iconic tweed case.

A lovely example of the classic Selmer bass with a stunning one piece back,
this instrument is in excellent original condition.
It’s had the compulsory neck reset and the pickups are both still strong.
It even has an offset jack socket, just like the most photographed Hofner bass of all time.
Complete with modern hard case.
