1964 Höfner 500/1 Violin Bass

The Hofner Violin Bass has become one of the most iconic musical instrument ever designed
thanks to its most famous user, Paul McCartney.
So strong is the association that the bass is also affectionately known as the “Beatle Bass”.
A few months after the birth of Beatlemania, the Selmer London company started importing
the 500/1 in the UK and supplied them with an iconic tweed case.

This 1964 500/1 is in beautiful all original condition, with barely any signs of play and wear.
With its striking sunburst finish and bound three-piece neck, this bass is a perfect example of the classic Selmer Violin Bass.
This 500/1 also features a beautifully figured one piece maple back,
both pickups sound powerful and the bass had a compulsory neck reset.
Complete with German reissue case and Guncotton leather strap.
