1965 Epiphone Casino E230-TD
Introduced in 1961 by Gibson, the Casino is the Epiphone equivalent of the ES-330:
same pick-up configuration and hollow body construction.
But with its white pickguard and neat headstock design, it looks and feels somewhat different.
Keith Richards and Dave Davies from The Kinks were Casino players but it is
the ultimate Beatle guitar as John, George and Paul all owned and played one.
This 1965 sunburst Casino is in near mint condition and identical to George Harrison’s iconic guitar.
Its finish is unfaded, its top nicely figured, and it barely shows any play wear or marks.
It features perfectly balanced P90s, nickel parts, and the transitional nut width (41.9mm).
Since Casinos were only ever fitted at Kalamazoo with trapeze or Tremotone tailpieces,
the rare UK-made Bigbsy B7 is a later addition, just like it was on Harrison’s, McCartney’s and Davies’ guitars.
To top it all, this stunning Casino is also 103 serial numbers ahead of John Lennon’s,
probably made in the previous E-230TD batch:
a very nice touch for any serious Beatle fan!
