1965 Gibson Firebird I
- Transition Model -

1965 Gibson Firebird I

Designed in early 1963 to compete with Fender’s Jaguar and Jazzmaster lines,
the Firebird was one of the most striking guitars to come out of the 60s.
The combination of lightweight mahogany, through neck construction and looks
has made this classic Gibson a favourite of the likes of
Brian Jones, Keith Richards, Eric Clapton and of course Johnny Winter.

This Firebird I is in stunning condition and has possibly the best features:
reverse body, flat reverse headstock with strip Klusons and two P90s.
Gibson only made one batch of 35 units starting in very late 1964,
this is the second transition the Firebird I went through before the switch to non-reverse bodies.

A truly great instrument complete with original case w/key,
strings, pick case and & a copy of the shipping ledger.
