1965 Gibson SG Standard
Designed in early 1960 to replace the brilliant yet slow selling Les Paul Standard,
the SG quickly established itself as an incredible guitar in its own right.
The combination of lightweight mahogany, humbucking pick-ups and easy access to the high frets
has made this classic Gibson a favourite of the likes of
Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, George Harrison and of course Angus Young.
With nearly identical specifications as George Harrison’s SG, this beautiful 1965 SG Standard is a great sounding and playing guitar with a deep cherry finish only some very minor play wear.
One of the last SGs to come out of Kalamazoo with a wide nut,
apart from some chrome pickup covers, it has all the classic 1964 features.
Complete with its original Lifton hard case, leather strap, lead and strings.
